Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions:

What does Experience Alive do?

We work with owners, operators, management companies, franchise groups, asset managers and investment groups across hospitality, including hotels, resorts and all lodging, recreation, bars, restaurants, cruise ships, airports, entertainment venues and casinos and more.

What does it cost hospitality owners and operators?

Introductions are free. Experience Alive is compensated by solution providers through referral and partnership arrangements, and owners and operators pay only if they engage us for separate project work. Compensation never earns a solution a place in our portfolio; every provider must pass the same vetting criteria.

How is this different from going directly to a vendor?
A vendor recommends its own product. We start with your problem, compare vetted options across the market, and tell you if nothing fits. You also get a direct introduction to a founder or senior leader instead of a sales queue.

Who is Sue Graves?
Sue Graves is the founder and CEO of Experience Alive. She spent 29 years with Marriott International, served as Assistant General Manager of the Greater Columbus Convention Center, and was the founding chair of the Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association's Innovation & Technology committee while currently serving on the technology committee for Ohio Restaurant & Hospitality Alliance. She speaks at industry events including IHTF Amsterdam, AHLA’s Investor Roundtable, Global Hotel Technology Nexus Conference, Alcor Hotel & Travel Forum and brand ambassador for the Independent Hotel Show Miami.

Solutions and results

What problems do your solutions address?
Our portfolio covers labor and retention, guest experience and AI, internal communication, payment processing, F&B revenue, event management, safety and security, robotics, and sustainability.

What results have clients seen?
Hotels and hospitality portfolios we advise have seen technology savings averaging $10–$15 per room per month, F&B revenue increases of up to 30%, and over 50% gains in sales and event workflow efficiency. Results vary by property and solution.

How quickly can a solution be deployed?
It depends on the solution, but we prioritize technology that goes live in days or weeks rather than months, with minimal disruption to operations.

Do your solutions meet brand standards?
Brand and franchise compliance is one of our six vetting criteria (if required). We confirm each solution can meet brand requirements before recommending it.

For technology providers

Can my company be considered for the portfolio?
Yes. Technology providers serving hospitality can contact us to begin the review process. Fewer than 1 in 20 companies we evaluate are accepted.
